Position Summary: Welder – Fabricator (Permanent, Full-time)

We are on the lookout for seasoned welders who possess fitting and fabrication skills, with a preference for those who can read complex blueprints and have experience in high-quality structural fabrication. Successful candidates will become part of a dynamic team working collaboratively in a shop environment. Each member is supervised and guided by our on-site Foreman, ensuring cohesion and production excellence.

Core Responsibilities

As a key contributor within our team, you’ll be expected to:

Interpret Engineering Drawings: You should confidently read and understand fabrication schematics, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Fit and Fabricate Components: Use precision fitting techniques to prepare and align materials for welding (preferred but not mandatory).
Execute Welding Procedures: Perform various welding processes in accordance with CWB standards and project requirements.
Assemble Fabricated Items: Participate in post-weld assembly and inspection phases when needed.
Mentor Junior Team Members: Offer guidance and oversight to apprentice or less experienced welders, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following:

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a professional industrial environment, particularly in the fabrication of structural steel components.
CWB Certifications (Mandatory): Active, valid tickets for GMAW (MIG) and FCAW/MCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding or Metal-Cored Arc Welding) processes, specifically in flat and horizontal positions.
Strong hands-on experience with shop tools and equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and hydraulic lifting equipment.
Preferable prior exposure to an ISO 9001-certified facility, demonstrating familiarity with quality assurance practices and documentation.
Comfortable working with a variety of materials, including mild steel and stainless steel.
Additional credentials such as CWB Welding Supervisor certification or CWB Welding Inspector license are considered strong assets but are not required.
Bonus Competencies: SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and aluminum welding capabilities are welcome but not compulsory.
